A Virtual Airline for FS2004 and FSX
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Explore Virtual?
Explore Virtual is an internet-based airline simulation dedicated to flight simulation. It has no relation to any real world airline what so ever.
How often must I fly in order to retain my position in the ranks?
We don't intend to remove members if they can't fly regulary. However if there is no flight filed after 6 months or more, then they may be removed if they do not respond to any e-mails
What Flight Simulators do you support?
Our fleet are currently tested on Microsoft Flight Simulator. If they don't work, please let us know and we will try and fix the problem.
What Aircraft do you use?
Explore Virtual use a variety of Airbus and Boeing planes mostly. However we also have available a selection of Cessna, Embrear, De Havallind and MD aircraft
How long will it take to process my application?
We aim to have most applications processed within 12 hours (if not sooner). This should not stop you from downloading our aircraft or searching or flight database to start flying for us now. You can always file your flight pireps later anyway.
Do you use HUBs?
Only to show where the member is roughly located in the world. You do not have to fly in and out of a hub all the time. In fact you can fly any flight you want, even if it means starting from a different airport than what you last landed at.
What is the minimum age restriction?
We require all members of both the virtual airline and forums, to be a minimum of thirteen (13) years old. Some countries have restictions about online privacy so to respect this, we have had to do this.
Who do I contact should I have a problem with a flight or PIREP?
Please contact admin at admin@explorevirtual.com
Do I have to fly a flight at the same time it is scheduled?
We do not require pilots to fly the flights at exactly the same real-world time as indicated in our timetable, but we do encourage it.
What aircraft should I use?
The pilot should use the aircraft that is set for the route / flight in question. Flights are developed and checked using this aircraft available for download.
Can I fly at a higher simulation rate?
We ask you to try not to by we don't always have that luxury. If you must use a higher rate, we ask that you restrict it to no more than 2x and only when flying at cruise altitude. You should only use 1x when taxiing, taking off, climbing, descending and landing,
When should I file my PIREP?
Immediately after the flight if possible although you can file them later.
My question is unanswered here - what should I do?
